Meet Our President

Mitch Vakerics is the Founder and Principal of Veritas Health Policy, a healthcare policy and government affairs consulting firm that helps clients navigate the complex intersection of Congress, the White House, and federal agencies including HHS, CMS, FDA, and HRSA.

With deep experience shaping legislation and regulatory policy, Mitch advises leading healthcare organizations—including providers, hospitals, health systems, digital health innovators, and national trade associations—on advancing their priorities in Washington. He has built a strong track record of success across a range of issues, from Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement to the 340B Drug Pricing Program, durable medical equipment, organ donation reform, and health technology policy.

Before launching Veritas, Mitch held senior roles at top government affairs firms, where he guided clients through high-stakes negotiations, committee markups, and federal rulemaking. Today, he leverages his policy expertise, strategic insight, and bipartisan relationships on Capitol Hill to deliver results that protect patient access, strengthen provider sustainability, and foster innovation in healthcare.

Mitch received a B.A. in Communications from James Madison University and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. 

A native to Virginia, Mitch resides in Arlington with his wife Jasmine, and their two children, Charlotte and Webb.
